This is Your Community: Welcome to RaveBae

This is Your Community: Welcome to RaveBae

You’ve been going to shows since before “EDM” was even the word people used. Or maybe you’re new to the scene, but well past your twentysomethings. Some of us have watched the scene grow up and grown up in it. Others have discovered raving later in life, many in a quest to find purpose, belonging, and joy.

Why RaveBae, Why Now?

Raving, once the true definition of counter culture, is suddenly mainstream. Last year, “how to become a DJ” was the most-searched dream job in the U.S., according to a global Remitly study – ranked ahead of becoming a doctor or attorney worldwide. DJs perform like celebrities and social media idols, with all eyes on them. It’s a far cry from the dark holes DJs once enjoyed, where the focus was the music and only the music.

As the scene grows, safe spaces for ravers over a certain age are a premium. Ravers in their 30s, 40s and 50s often face judgment from younger generations, family, friends and coworkers who think they should’ve “grown out of it” by now.

Ageism is real, though perhaps more subtle than racism and sexism. However, the isms are still an everyday battle in the rave community, as much as we strive to make PLUR our universal foundation.

In Focus: Rave Trends Favor 30+ Ravers

The industry is starting to notice. Mixmag, VICE and Midnight Rebels have published features about “seasoned” ravers over 40, 50, and beyond, focusing on their enthusiastic contribution to a culture in transition. Sixty-three year old German sensation The Tunegirl played Awakenings in 2026 and captivates her audience with self-taught analog techno sets.

Studies echo the anecdotes. A University of Leeds study published in Psychology of Music surveyed women over 40 who go out regularly and found 92% feel completely at home at dance music events, with 91% saying it positively impacts their mental health. Additional studies from Music is Medicine and others focus on the whole health impacts of raving, including biological shifts in the aging process.

Searches for daytime clubbing are up 800% as the original rave generation, now in their 50s and older, builds going out around real life instead of leaving it behind. Age-restricted nights for 30+ ravers are opening in cities where none existed a few years ago.

The bottom line? You have more places to dance than you did five or 10 years ago. You still don’t have a singularly focused place built to help you find the people you want to be there with.

What RaveBae Delivers for 30+ Ravers

RaveBae is a community for 30+ ravers to connect and share experiences beyond the dancefloor. It’s built around four things: community, love, culture, and freedom. Every aspect of what we do is focused on the rave community. We’re asking you to tell us what you want. We’re listening and building the app with you. It’s a risky approach, and it’s all happening in public.

When we began this journey, we knew we wanted to do things differently. We see plenty of apps and social platforms with tailored marketing campaigns toward ravers. We see the blink and you missed it R&D of apps who think they already know what the community wants and spoonfeeds it to us.

What we don’t see is a platform built by ravers, for ravers. We don’t see a larger conversation happening with 30+ ravers about how we want to communicate and connect with each other on and off the dancefloor.

So we’re having it. With friends, artists, partners and others who want to:

  • Preserve the original rave culture and belief systems
  • Adapt to changing social landscapes IRL and online
  • Evaluate if, when, and how to include/exclude rapidly escalating technology advancements ike AI

What Comes Next for RaveBae is Up to You

RaveBae is currently v.1, with a private beta test in Dallas helping shape what future versions will become. We’re applying your feedback and using it to develop the app together.

Where we go next is up to you, in many ways. Get your city on the list and join the movement of a social club that’s focused on embodying and serving the 30+ rave community.
